Death toll in Uttarakhand bus accident rises to 36

Latest News :- The death toll after a bus overturned in a valley in Almora district of Uttarakhand has reached 36. The bus, which was going from Pauri to Ramnagar, suddenly lost control at Marchula in Almora district and fell into a 200 meter deep gorge. The accident happened today (November 4) morning. About 60 people were traveling in the crashed bus. 36 people died in the accident. 24 people were injured. After the accident, police, SDRF and NDRF personnel immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations. Many injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
The seriously injured have been airlifted to AIIMS Hospital in Rishikesh. Rishikesh AIIMS spokesperson Sandeep said that so far three people have been admitted to the hospital, with one more person expected to arrive soon. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Thami expressed condolences for those who lost their lives in the accident. In a video released in this regard, he said, “Our deepest condolences to the families of the passengers who lost their lives in the heart-wrenching bus accident in Marchula, Almora district. We stand with them in this hour of grief. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured and peace to the departed souls.
The families of the deceased will be given Rs 2 lakh each. 4 lakh and Rs. Rs 1 lakh will be given as compensation. The commissioner has ordered an investigation into the incident. People seriously injured in the accident have been airlifted to Rishikesh AIIMS and Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani for better treatment. “I am going to Bandhnagar from Delhi after postponing all activities today to expedite relief and rescue operations,” he said.
Relief of Rs 2 lakh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. In this regard, in his X-post he said, “My condolences to the people who lost their loved ones in the road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand. Also, I pray for the speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is making every possible effort for relief and recovery. Rs 2 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured as compensation.
