Will Baazigar 2 happen
Starting a career with heroic roles and then shifting to playing a villain can be a risky move for any actor as it often leaves a lasting impression of negative roles.
Shah Rukh Khan began his Bollywood journey in 1992 with the film Deewana but it was his next release Baazigar (1993) where his portrayal of a negative character shocked everyone.
The Real Baazigar of Bollywood?
While Baazigar was a commercial hit Shah Rukh’s decision to take on a villainous role could have derailed his career.
One of the film’s most shocking scenes where his character throws Shilpa Shetty off a tall building to her death left audiences stunned.
Those who had come to see Shah Rukh as a romantic hero were taken aback by this dark turn.
However despite these risky choices, Shah Rukh has cemented his legacy in Bollywood even with such negative roles in his repertoire.
•Sequels a growing trend in Bollywood
In recent years Bollywood has increasingly focused on creating sequels to successful films.
•The return of Bazigar?
In a recent interview Baazigar producer Ratan Jain revealed that discussions are underway with Shah Rukh Khan regarding a sequel.
While the script hasn’t been finalized Jain shared that he has an interesting idea for the sequel. However he emphasized that the film needs an exceptional screenplay and a fresh direction to match the original’s standards.
Currently talks with Shah Rukh are ongoing but nothing has been officially confirmed.
•Shah Rukh’s death in Baazigar. A Challenge for the Sequel
A significant question in fans minds is how Shah Rukh Khan’s character who dies in the original film could appear in the sequel. It seems the producers might have a unique idea in mind to address this.
Released on November 12, 1993 Baazigar starred Shah Rukh Khan alongside Kajol, Shilpa Shetty, Rakhee, Siddharth Ray and Johnny Lever with Abbas Mustan directing the film.
