The defending champions, Spain, remained impressive as they won their fourth game in the tournament, beating Denmark and extending their winning streak. Scotland at home against Croatia in the closing minutes of the games while Switzerland and Serbia settled for a draw.

Portugal 5-1 Poland

Portugal cruised into the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals with a dominant 5-1 win over Poland after a sensational second-half performance. The first half ended goalless as Portugal broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Rafael Leao scored with a diving header from a Nuno Mendes cross. Cristiano Ronaldo then converted a penalty to double the lead before scoring a brace with an overhead kick.

Bruno Fernandes also got on the scoresheet with a long-range shot. Pedro Neto scored the final goal for the host after a powerful near-post strike. Poland pulled one back in the closing minutes through debutant, but it was in vain as the hosts took home an impressive 5-1 win.

Denmark 1-2 Spain

Spain secured the top spot in UEFA Nations League Group 4 of League A with a 2-1 win over Denmark in Copenhagen on Friday. After already being qualified for the final eight, Spain’s victory guaranteed them first place ahead of their final group match against Switzerland on Monday.

Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring in the 15th minute with an accurate pass from Ayoze Perez. Spain doubled their lead just before the hour mark, with Dani Olmo setting up Perez for a brilliant finish, making it the latter’s first competitive goal for La Roja. Denmark pulled one back late as Gustav Isaksen pounced on a poor back pass from Fabian Ruiz.

However, the visitors held firm to victory, leaving Denmark in second place, two points ahead of third-placed Serbia, with a final group match against them on Monday.

Scotland 1-0 Croatia

John McGinn scored a late goal to give Scotland a 1-0 victory over 10-man Croatia in their penultimate Nations League Group A1 match at Hampden Park on Friday. Croatia, though, dominated the first half but repeatedly failed to convert their chances, and their task was made harder when Petar Sucic was sent off for a second yellow card just before halftime.

Still, at the bottom of the group, Scotland levelled on point with third-placed Poland, winning and setting up a crucial final match against Poland on Monday. The decisive moment came in the 86th minute when Ben Doak, who had been impressive throughout the game, delivered a cross that was punched away by Croatia’s goalkeeper Andrej Kramaric, allowing McGinn to score the dramatic winner. Croatia captain Luka Modric was also booked for dissent and will miss Monday’s game against Portugal.

Switzerland 1-1 Serbia

Switzerland’s winless run in the Nations League continued on Friday as they were relegated to League B after a 1-1 draw with Serbia. Switzerland, who finished bottom of Group A4 with just two points from five matches, will end their campaign with a visit to sensational Spain on Monday. Serbia remained in third place with five points and have kept their hopes of advancing alive and will host Denmark in their final match. Serbia had earlier missed a chance to take the lead when Aleksandar Mitrovic’s penalty was saved by Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
