Suriya’s period drama becomes his biggest opener, yet fails to beat records of…earns Rs…
Made on an expensive budget of Rs 300 crore, it seems difficult for the makers to recover Kanguva’s cost. Apart from Suriya, the historical drama also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani.
A whilestarring Suriya in the lead role along with Bobby Deol and Disha Patani finally hit the big screens on November Day 1. The Pan-Indian movie earned decent at its opening day. Helmed by Siva, Kanguva’s is considered Suriya’s career-best so far.
As per Sacnilk, Kanguva performed modestly well on the two days. The high-octane period drama earned Rs 24 crore on its opening day. On Day 2, the film did the business of around Rs 5.54 crore (nett) in India across all languages. Now, the total collection is Rs 29.54 crore.
Kanguva has made a notable record in Suriya’s career so far. It has delivered the highest opening of his career, surpassing his previous best with Singam II, which has opened at Rs 12 crore.
Despite this, Kanguva failed to beat the opening day collections of the other big Tamil films- Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, and Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time aka GOAT.
