Coldplay Ahmedabad concert: Lakhs queue up, but many struggle to secure tickets
New Delhi: The tickets for the fourth and bonus concert of the British band Coldplay opened at 12 pm on Saturday. However, fans of the band were left empty-handed due to long queues of lakhs waiting to confirm their ticket. The band will perform on January 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In September, Coldplay was scheduled to have two shows on January 18 and January 19 at the DY Patil Sports Stadium. Due to high demand, they added a third concert to their itinerary.
Why are fans disappointed with Coldplay’s Ahmedabad concert?
Several netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their disappointment in not being able to secure a ticket for the concert. Currently, the queue on the BookMyShow app is in lakhs and fans are left without tickets.
One user wrote, “Feeling utterly frustrated with the persistent ticketing scams in India. It’s unacceptable that such incompetence can ruin the excitement of attending concerts. We deserve a better experience!”
Another commented, “Two Devices having the same waiting number….how is it possible…..it’s a scam Book my Show.”
A user also expressed his excitement at securing the ticket, “Guys I got 2 tickets finally 😭🎉 For the first time in my life I booked a concert ticket for a BIGG artist.”

Hotel prices skyrocketed in Ahmedabad
A digital content creator shared that he booked the ticket near the Narendra Modi Stadium for just Rs 1,800 but his booking has been cancelled by the hotel as the prices increase due to high demand for Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad.
Earlier, there were reports of black marketing of tickets after they were sold out within minutes and later Coldplay announced the fourth show. The Enforcement Directorate began a probe in the alleged illegal sale of Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh’s concert.
