All-rounder Jason Holder to be ruled out of Bangladesh Test series due to shoulder rehabilitation

Right-arm fast bowler Anderson Phillip also returned to the Test team for the first time since December 2022. Phillip impressed for Trinidad and Tobago in the domestic 50-over competition. He also performed brilliantly in county cricket for Lancashire, taking nine wickets against Worcestershire in late September.
Alzarri Joseph is another fast bowler who is returning to the Test side after being rested for the South Africa series to handle his “considerable workload”. Joseph was the vice-captain of the team before being rested. In his absence, the selectors promoted Joshua da Silva as Kraigg Brathwaite's deputy. Even after his return, da Silva retained the vice-captaincy. Gudakesh Moti and uncapped Brian Charles had to make way for incoming players for the upcoming series. Moti is playing for West Indies in the T20I series against England. However, he was not included in the Test squad after his disappointing performance against South Africa. In the two Tests, he took just three wickets, while Charles, who did not make his debut in the South Africa series, was left out of the team. The two-match series will begin in Antigua on November 22 and Jamaica on November 30.
Before the start of the series, captain Brathwaite will lead the CWI Select XI for a two-day practice match against Bangladesh. This match will be played on 17 and 18 November at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
