Due to this defect, Honda recalled Gold Wing GL1800, check immediately if you have this model.
Bike News Desk – Honda has announced a voluntary recall for its bike Gold Wing GL1800 in India. This announcement by the company includes those bikes which were manufactured between March 2018 and May 2021. According to a report, Honda has identified a potential problem with the primary drive gear fastening bolt of some Gold Wing GL1800 engines. In such circumstances, the bolt of the bike may break and the engine may also stop.
As a precautionary measure, the affected part will be replaced at Big Wing dealerships across India from the third week of December. In case of voluntary recall, the affected part will be replaced free of charge regardless of the warranty status of the bike. Honda Big Wing dealers will proactively inform customers to get their bikes checked.
How can customers check?
Gold Wing customers can also check if their vehicle is affected by this problem by entering their bike's VIN number on the Big Wing website (www.hondabigwing.in). The Gold Wing model has always been at the top of Honda's two-wheeler line-up. The current model with a 1,833cc horizontally opposed 6-cylinder motor continues the same trend. Gold Wing GL1800 is one of the most expensive bikes of the company. Its price in India is Rs 39.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
