Jhansi fire Tragedy PM Modi Announces Rs 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Families News In Hindi Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the children who lost their lives in the massive fire that broke out in Jhansi Medical College, Uttar Pradesh. This financial assistance will be provided from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Apart from this, Rs 50,000 will be given to those injured in the incident.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the children killed in the accident at Jhansi Medical College. The injured will get Rs 50,000,” the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a post on Twitter. ”

Prime Minister Modi expressed grief over the death of 10 infants in a fire incident in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College, calling it “heartbreaking”. Expressing his condolences, he said, I have my deepest condolences to those who have lost their innocent children. We pray to God to give them the strength to bear this immense sorrow. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is making every possible effort for relief and rescue.

CM Yogi announced further assistance

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the parents of deceased newborn babies. The families of the injured infants will get Rs 50,000 from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. CM Yogi has directed officials including the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jhansi to submit the report of the incident within 12 hours.

Please note that a fire broke out in the children's ward of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College on Friday night. 10 children died in this incident. While 16 other injured people were fighting for their lives on Saturday, officials said.

It is believed that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the oxygen concentrator late on Friday night, which spread rapidly in the oxygen-rich NICU. At the time of the incident, more than 50 newborn babies were undergoing treatment in the unit. The parents and families of the affected children are devastated, with many still looking for answers and accountability.
