THIS player might make debut

India had to face a massive hit to the team as top-order star batter Shubman Gill faced a fracture in his right hand thumb, which might result in him getting ruled out from the opening Test at Perth, set to begin November 22.

Shubman Gill has been a major part of the Indian batting lineup for the last edition of Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and if captain Rohit Sharma misses the first Test, top-order of the Indian lineup might get weakened.

Gill faced the injury when India was engaged in the 2nd Day of an intra-squad practice session. As he got injured, he was rushed out of the ground to initiate some scans.

A fracture in the thumb usually takes 14 days to recover, after which a placer can be expected to begin net sessions. An update regarding this issue was given by a source of BCCI, who stated that there is only a week left for the first Test, which means it won’t be possible for the left-handed batter.

If Gill does not recover till it is the time for the series opener, Abhimanyu Easwaran might get an opportunity to make his debut in Test matches. This decision can get taken since India does not have much options to consider from.
