Manipur starts burning in the fire of violence again, curfew imposed in Imphal valley, internet closed
Manipur Violence: Violence has once again erupted in the north-eastern state of Manipur. After this, curfew has been imposed in Imphal Valley. Along with this, the Chief Secretary of Manipur announced suspension of internet services in Imphal West and Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangkokpi and Churachandpur. Let us tell you that violence started in Manipur in May last year. Since then, several dozen people have died in this violence.
Tension after kidnapping of six members of Meitei community
Let us tell you that amidst the increasing tension over the kidnapping of six members of the Meitei family and the subsequent recovery of three unidentified bodies, the authorities in Manipur imposed curfew in Imphal Valley on Saturday. Along with this, internet was suspended in at least seven districts of the state. Let us tell you that recently the state government had requested the Center to withdraw the AFSPA which was recently re-imposed in some parts of Manipur.

Ministers and MLAs' houses vandalized
During this violence, angry protesters attacked the residences of two state ministers Sapam Ranjan Lamphel Sankeithel and L Susindro Singh and five MLAs S Kunjkesar, RK Imo, K Raghumani, Sapam Nishikant and Joykisan and set fire to them. During this, the protesters set fire to many shops and also set vehicles on fire. Not only this, the protesters also attacked the private residence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh late on Saturday night.

Curfew imposed in Imphal valley
In view of the violence, Imphal West District Magistrate T Kirankumar and Imphal East District Magistrate Khumanthem Diana have announced curfew in both the areas of Imphal East and Imphal West. Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi announced suspension of internet services in Imphal West and Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangkokpi and Churchandpur, which include strongholds of both Meitei and tribal communities.
How did the latest spark of violence erupt in Manipur?
Let us tell you that earlier on Monday, a group of armed people had attacked the CRPF post in Jiribam district. However, during this period the security forces had killed 10 suspected militants. A day after this, on Tuesday, bodies of two civilians were recovered from Jiribam village.

Six members of a Meitei family from the same village, three women and three children, were reported missing, with officials saying they were probably abducted by militants. They were identified as Yurembam Rani Devi (60), Telem Thoibi Debi (31), Laisram Heitombi Devi (25), Telem Thajmanbi Devi (8), Laisram Chingkheiganba Singh (2) and Laisram Langamba Singh (8 months). .
After that, on Friday, mutilated bodies of two children, including an infant, and a woman were recovered near the Manipur-Assam border. Due to which speculations began that these bodies were those of the kidnapped people. After this, protests started once again in Imphal Valley, which turned into violence on Saturday.
