Hypersonic missile is very fast. It moves towards its target at about 5 times the speed of sound. Due to its high speed, it is not easy to track and destroy a hypersonic missile with a missile defense system. It consists of a rocket and a glide vehicle. The hypersonic missile developed by DRDO can carry different types of conventional weapons. This information has not yet been shared as to how much weight of bomb can be placed in DRDO's hypersonic missile to destroy enemy targets. Making a hypersonic missile is a task of great technical complexity. In such a situation, not every country has this type of missile.
Before this, India has developed many types of missiles for its army. These include Agni ballistic missiles with a range of 300 to 5000 kilometers. India has also made 'K' series missiles that launch nuclear bombs on the enemy country from submarines. Apart from this, India has also developed supersonic cruise missile BrahMos through technical cooperation with Russia. India has also sold BrahMos missile to the Philippines.
