Given these circumstances, the petition emphasized that appearing even through video conference would be highly unsafe, as the applicant's location could potentially be traced using electronic technology. Understanding the seriousness and sensitivity of the case, the Delhi court exempted the applicant from attending the hearing on Saturday and directed him to appear on 3 February. Vikas Yadav, said to be a former RAW officer, has been named by the US in connection with the failed attempt to assassinate Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Recently, Vikas Yadav's lawyers refuted the allegations against him, claiming that they are false and he is being made a scapegoat in international political conflicts.

Vikas Yadav is on bail

Vikas Yadav was arrested in December last year by the Special Cell of Delhi Police following a complaint by a businessman living in Rohini, north-west Delhi. The charge sheet was filed in March this year and Yadav got bail in April. Yadav is facing trial on charges of attempt to murder and kidnapping.
