GRAP-4 rules implemented in Delhi from today, entry of trucks closed, schools closed… Know what changes will happen

The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi reached above the critical level on Sunday. After this, CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) has announced to implement new rules of GRAP-IV from Monday to control pollution. These will come into effect from 8 am. Under this, entry of trucks will be banned in Delhi. However, all LNG, CNG, electric, BS-6 diesel trucks providing essential services have been allowed to enter. Along with this, an appeal has been made to shift classes to online mode in all schools.

Pollution control rules have been announced by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). Along with this, an appeal has been made to the Delhi government to implement the “odd-even” rule of vehicles and to make classes from classes 6 to 9 and 11 in online mode. Entry of trucks and BS-IV vehicles on the roads has been banned. Along with this, many more restrictions have also been imposed under GRAP-IV.

Delhi CM Atishi says that with the implementation of GRAP-4 from Monday, physical classes have been stopped for all students except classes 10th and 12th. All schools will conduct studies in online mode till further orders. Will employees work from home? CAQM has not ordered all the employees to work from home, but has advised the Delhi government that 50% of the employees in government, municipal and private offices should be instructed to work from office and the rest from home. At the same time, the Central Government has also been requested to allow work from home to the central employees.

Recommendation to close the college also

Under GRAP-IV, CAQM has recommended conducting online classes for students of classes 6 to 11. Under GRAP-III, classes for students up to class 5 are already being conducted in online mode. Apart from this, it has also been recommended to close colleges. CAQM has not ordered employees to work from home. But the Delhi government has been instructed to allow government, municipal and private offices to operate at 50 percent capacity. Others should be allowed to work from home.

Entry of these vehicles is restricted

After the implementation of GRAP-IV, trucks coming from other states will be prohibited from entering Delhi. CNG and electric trucks and trucks carrying essential commodities will be allowed. There is a ban on entry of light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi. Under GRAP-IV, vehicles running on BS-IV and below diesel standards are banned. There is also a ban on Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs) and Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).
