Jhansi Medical College Fire Accident: When 30 to 40 percent commission game will be played, then how will accidents stop in medical colleges and hospitals?
Lucknow. The death of 10 children due to fire in Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College of Jhansi has exposed the poor health system of UP. We are not saying this, this is clearly visible in the statements of UP Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak after the accident. UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, who reached the spot, said that a fire safety audit was conducted in February. A mock drill was also conducted in June. How and why this incident happened, can anything be said about it only after the investigation report comes?

No company gets work without 30 to 40 percent commission.
Now the question arises that when the Health Minister of the state is giving such a statement. So one thing is clearly visible that the health system of the state itself needs treatment. Sources related to the health department claim that no company gets work without 30 to 40 percent commission. If any agency gives this much commission, it is inevitable that hospitals and medical colleges will have substandard equipment.
Yogi government may make lakhs of claims to curb corruption, but these claims appear to be only on paper.
UP Yogi Adityanath government may make lakhs of claims to curb corruption but these claims appear to be only on paper. In fact, leave aside curbing the ongoing corruption in the health department, corruption is increasing in this department. There is a lot of game being played in transfer-posting also. Not only this, the files from the Chief Minister's office are also ignored by Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. In this, their favorite officers and some abbots are playing the biggest game together.

One name in this is that of Mukesh Srivastava, who is a former MLA. Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Foundation has also filed a case against Mukesh Srivastava for acquiring assets beyond his income. Not only this, Mukesh Srivastava's name also came up in the NRHM scam. Its syndicate, which has been going on since the BSP rule, is still continuing in the health department. If sources are to be believed, Mukesh Srivastava has a lot of influence in the transfer posting of Chief Medical Officer (CMO). In most of the transfer postings of CMO, his favorite officers are posted in the districts. For this, a huge amount is also dealt with.
However, all efforts have been made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to curb corruption in transfer-posting and strict instructions have been given to the officers. Even after this, together with the Health Minister, he is doing all these favorite games. If sources are to be believed, if the transfer posting of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) done so far by the Chief Minister is investigated, then their game will be exposed. Not only this, due to their actions the image of the government is also getting tarnished.
Many companies of Mukesh Srivastava supply goods of very poor quality.
It is said that Mukesh Srivastava, who is called the mafia of the health department, also has many companies. However, more than half a dozen of their companies have been hunted by the government and they have been blacklisted. Not only this, SIT investigation is also going on against many of its companies. Even after this, Mukesh Srivastava, in connivance with the Health Minister, has got his CMO deployed in about 15 districts. After the appointment of CMO, Mukesh is running his companies' work in full swing in these districts. If sources are to be believed, very poor quality goods are supplied in these companies.
BJP MLAs are not heard

Sources say that BJP MLAs do not have any hearing with the Health Minister. When many BJP MLAs write letters to the Chief Minister regarding the plight of the health department in their areas, it is rejected outright by the Health Minister. Not only this, pressure is also put on the MLAs to withdraw the letter or their letter is shrugged off by calling it fake. Whereas people like Mukesh Srivastava, former MLA of the opposition party, have a bad reputation in the department. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether the Chief Minister takes any action against this syndicate or the Health Minister continues his game in the department.
After the fire, neither the fire alarm was raised nor the cylinders kept in the ward were of any use.
A major news channel has made a big disclosure on the Jhansi fire incident. It is being claimed in the media report that the fire extinguishers installed in the Medical College will expire in 2023 itself. Apart from this, many fire extinguishers are lying broken since 2019. Let us tell you that fire extinguishers are installed to prevent fire. This incident has made it clear that fire cylinders were installed in the Medical College only for food supply. The surprising thing was that after the fire, neither the fire alarm was raised nor the cylinders kept in the ward were of any use.
Claim of world class treatment, lamps of 10 houses extinguished due to negligence of health department
The death of 10 infants in Jhansi Medical College has shocked the entire country. A big question has been raised on the claim of providing world class treatment to infants in this medical college. In a report published by a news channel in January this year, it was written that babies suffering from serious medical problems would get the best treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Jhansi Medical College. This ward has been equipped with modern facilities and equipment at a cost of more than Rs 70 lakh.
NICU ward nodal officer and pediatrician Dr. Om Shankar Chaurasia had said that after the construction of the new NICU ward, along with treating the sick children with modern medical machines at one place, arrangements have also been made to keep the children and mothers together. Chaurasia said that there will be all the facilities like infusion pump, multipara patient monitor, ventilator, auto C-PAP, LED photo therapy, ultrasound, echo etc. But the accident exposed all the claims.

How long will the tradition of fooling the public in the name of “world class” facilities continue?
There was big talk about building a “new NICU ward” of 51 beds in the Medical College of Jhansi. In the name of providing world class facilities, another ostentatious structure was created. Most of the “incomplete projects” of the government are completed only on paper. In the name of “hi-fi” facilities like Kangaroo Mother Care Room, parents will be expected to bring their newborn baby here in the illusion of better treatment. It is often seen that in sensitive places like NICU, without trained staff and maintenance, all the facilities prove to be mere show off. The real question is whether the government will ensure permanent solutions and transparency for these wards? Hopefully this time we will see real change, not show-off. Otherwise, only newborn babies and their parents will remain trapped in this web of false propaganda and unfulfilled promises.
