IPL 2025: A few days before the start of IPL 2025 mega auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore has taken a big step. He has appointed Mumbai home team head coach Omkar Salvi as his fast bowling coach. However, the franchise itself has not yet announced this officially. But the news has spread in the corridors of cricket that RCB has included Omkar Salvi before the auction.

Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore has strengthened its squad. He has added a veteran of Mumbai in the team management. If reports are to be believed, RCB has appointed current Mumbai head coach Omkar Salvi as its fast bowling coach for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Salvi will play a role in Virat Kohli's IPL team after the conclusion of the domestic season in March. Under his leadership, the Mumbai team won the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy in March and then the Irani Cup in October.

Has worked as assistant coach of KKR
Before joining Royal Challengers Bangalore, Omkar Salvi had played the role of assistant bowling coach in Kolkata Knight Riders. Interestingly, his brother Avishkar is the bowling coach of the Indian women's cricket team and was the head coach of Punjab (they won the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy under his leadership last season).
Have made Mumbai champion
Omkar Salvi may be a low profile coach, but his achievements at the domestic level are considerable. Salvi joined as the head coach of Mumbai before the 2023-24 season and as soon as he arrived, he led Mumbai to the 42nd Ranji Trophy win. This was Mumbai's first Ranji title in 8 years and the MCA later decided to retain Salvi for another season. Not only this, then under him Mumbai won the Irani Cup after 27 years.
