The Punjab Police Constable exam was held from July 1 to August 16 at various centres in the state. The recruitment exam is being held to fill a total of 1,746 constable positions in the department. Category wise; general- 410, Scheduled Castes Balmiki/Mazhbi Sikhs- 100, Scheduled Castes Ramdasia- 100, Backward Class- 100, Ex-Serviceman- 70, EWS- 100, wards of freedom fighter- 10. In the armed police cadre; general- 328, SC- 80, Backward Classes- 80.
