News – Agreement signed between DVC and GUVNL

Mumbai . Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in its most recent statement announced that it has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for the supply of 559 MW of power. This agreement is a major step forward for the registered consumers of DVC and will ensure them more supply in the regions of North India. According to this agreement, DVC will supply 359 MW power from Durgapur Thermal Power Station in Bangladesh and 200 MW power from Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase II in Jharkhand. The signing ceremony of the agreement was attended by DVC Chairman S Suresh Kumar, Member (Finance) Arup Sarkar, and key officials of both the companies. Market experts are seeing this purchase agreement as a capability enhancement for GUVNN which will strengthen their supply capacity. Along with this, DVC is also expected to provide benefits at the user level to consumers across the country through this agreement. The agreement was formalized during DVC's Consumer Summit 2024, a two-day event on November 15-16. In this, representatives of consumers who received the support of DVC attacked together. Through this agreement, DVC has strengthened its holdings in an effective manner and created a tailored approach for its consumers.
