Pujara and Rahane's luck improved overnight, Gambhir sent a call for Perth Test, will fill the gap of these 2 players

Team India: The upcoming test series between India and Australia is going to start from 22nd November. Along with this, Indian batsmen are continuously struggling with poor form which remains a matter of concern. Now amidst all this, two senior players of Team India, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane can enter the team. It is believed that Pujara and Rahane can fulfill the shortage of two players of the Indian team for the Perth Test.

Pujara will fill the gap of these two players – Rahane

1. Rohit Sharma

Before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, head coach Gautam Gambhir had told in his press conference that if captain Rohit Sharma is not available for the first Test, then Jasprit Bumrah will be seen captaining. Apart from the captaincy, the opening pair has also become a headache for Team India.

In such a situation, it is believed that Cheteshwar Pujara can fill the void of Rohit Sharma in the Perth Test. The selectors have considered including him in the team for the upcoming Australia tour. India has defeated Australia at home in the last two Border-Gavaskar Trophies, in which Pujara's contribution has been important.

2.Ajinkya Rahane

For the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be played between India and Australia, Ajinkya Rahane can be included in the team to fill the void of Sarfaraz Khan to increase experience in the middle order. The legendary right-handed batsman has been one of the most prominent batsmen of Team India. He played his last Test match for India against West Indies in July 2023 and has not returned to the team since then. Rahane is one of those batsmen who bats very well against spin.
