What is the new EV policy of Telangana government?
If media reports are to be believed, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said in this regard that the new EV policy under Government Order 41 is being implemented from Monday i.e. November 18. The state government has decided to provide 100% exemption in road tax and registration fees for electric vehicles for an initial period of two years till December 31, 2026. The aim of the government is to make the state pollution free.

The Telangana government is afraid that the situation in Hyderabad may become like Delhi. This is the reason why initially this new EV policy has been implemented for two years only. This new EV scheme of the government includes electric-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial passenger, three-seater auto rickshaws, goods carriers, e-tractors and electric buses which will be given 100% exemption in road tax and registration fees. It is worth noting that this offer will be applicable for lifetime on all electric buses running in Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
