First Kho Kho World Cup: India will host the first Kho Kho World Cup, KKFI partners with IOA
First Kho Kho World Cup 2025 : India will host the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup at the prestigious IGI Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 to 19, 2025. For this, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has officially confirmed the partnership with the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI). The union promised unwavering support for the event.

In a statement to KKFI President Sudhanshu Mittal, IOA President PT Usha expressed the association's strong commitment to growing indigenous sports like Kho Kho. He pledged to provide widespread support to increase the visibility of the tournament. PT Usha said, “We recognize the importance of this event in celebrating our cultural heritage and promoting traditional sports, and we look forward to collaborating with the Kho Kho Federation of India to ensure the success of the tournament. “Together, we aim to make this event memorable and impactful, encourage sportsmanship among the participants and foster a deeper appreciation for Kho Kho across the world.”
KKFI President Mittal expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the support of the IOA and believes that this partnership will provide a tremendous boost to the tournament. Mittal said, “The support of the IOA, under the leadership of President PT Usha, is a game-changer for Kho Kho. “This collaboration is vital in putting Kho Kho on the global map, and we are thrilled to host the first Kho Kho World Cup, a truly historic event for the sport.”
The Kho Kho World Cup 2025 will feature both men's and women's teams, with 24 countries across six continents set to compete. Teams from Asia, including hosts India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, will face rivals from Africa, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania. Countries like Ghana, Kenya, England, Germany, Brazil and Australia will be part of this tournament.
