Manipur Violence: Kokomi violated curfew and locked government offices, now internet suspended in seven districts
Imphal. Violence and protests are increasing in Manipur. The Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Monday protested in Imphal West district, violating curfew, following the killing of three women and three children in Jiribam. During this period, government offices were locked. On the other hand, Manipur Government has suspended internet service in seven districts of the state till Wednesday.

Locked on the gate of Chief Electoral Officer
Manipur officials said protesters stormed the Chief Electoral Officer Office in Lamphelpat. After this, the main gate of the office was locked with a chain. Apart from this, the protesters also locked the doors of the main office of the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development and the gate of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Takil. Officials said the suspected terrorists are accused of killing three women and three children in Jiribam district. COCOMI is protesting against this incident. The organization demanded justice from the government.
Demand for military action against militants
COCOMI organization is demanding military action against 'Kuki Jo Hamar' militants. The organization's protest has been going on for the last three days in Khwairamband market of Imphal. Film personality Laimayam Surjakanta, who participated in the protest, said that we will not tolerate the barbaric killing of three women and three children by Kuki Jo Hamar militants in Jiribam. The central government should take action. The murderers should be arrested immediately.

Let us tell you that the Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity is an organization of the Meitei community. This ethnic group is dominant in Imphal Valley. There are a total of five districts in Imphal Valley.
Two dead bodies found in Assam
Six people went missing from a camp in Jiribam district in Manipur on November 11. After this, bodies of three people were found in Jiri river on Friday. On Sunday, two more bodies were found in Barak river in Cachar district of Assam. It is believed that these bodies are also those of the missing people. Senior Assam Police officials say that a total of five bodies have been found so far. Meanwhile, 10 Kuki youth have also lost their lives in the encounter between security forces and armed people.
Indefinite curfew in Imphal Valley
In view of law and order, indefinite curfew has been imposed in Imphal East and West, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching districts of Imphal Valley. The administration has extended the internet ban to two other districts, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur.

Now internet service will remain suspended in a total of seven districts till 5.15 pm on November 20. In May last year, ethnic violence broke out between the Meitei people living in the Imphal Valley and the Kuki people living in the hills. More than 200 people have lost their lives so far. Thousands of people have become homeless.
