Earlier, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was intercepted at Dubai Airport and subsequently taken to Bar Dubai police station by the local authorities, on Monday.
Reports indicated that Salman Ahmed, Khan’s ex-manager and a well-known promoter in the entertainment industry, has lodged a complaint against him in Dubai.
Despite this, it appears Khan has not been officially arrested. He was in the city to perform at several musical events.
Earlier this year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan initiated an investigation into Khan for alleged money laundering and tax evasion, following revelations that he earned approximately Rs8 billion over 12 years from concerts worldwide.
This investigation began amidst another scandal involving a viral video that showed Khan allegedly assaulting a band member over a missing bottle of liquor, causing an international uproar.
Additionally, in February, Salman Ahmed was caught in a controversy when a leaked video surfaced, showing him making veiled threats against several prominent Bollywood figures, including Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
