New change in Yahoo Mail, combination of AI and gamification

Obnews Tech Desk: Yahoo Mail has introduced a new look for its app, which is now equipped with elements of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gamification. Recently the company announced that it is redesigning its mail app, so that users can get a more convenient and interactive experience. This new version is currently available for iOS users in the US.

AI-powered redesign of the Yahoo Mail app

According to Yahoo's press release, the new app is designed to better organize users' mail inboxes and prioritize important messages. The company has used AI and gamification tools for this new feature, however, Yahoo did not provide any information about which AI models were used.

In this update, Yahoo has introduced an AI-powered Inbox, which includes AI-generated one-line email summaries. These summaries appear in the preview window along with proposed actions, including response suggestions. Yahoo says this method will help users quickly respond to emails that would normally be a waste of time.

New interface and customization options

Yahoo Mail has made its interface more like a messaging app, where users can easily enter a mail thread and reply in a few taps. Additionally, a new AI feature has also been added that can adjust the tonality of the message, making it appear more professional, friendly, formal, or concise.

Additionally, users can now organize their mail by priority, such as by key messages, sender, subject, and content. Users can also decide which email categories are important to them and customize them.

Gamification tools and new features

Yahoo has also added gamification to its Mail app, where users are given visual prompts to delete, archive, or mark mails as read. Using these prompts allows users to complete these tasks in a single tap, which the company calls “gamifying inbox clean-up.”

Facility to link multiple accounts

The new Yahoo Mail app also features the ability to link multiple email accounts. This means that users can now use the email management features of the app without opening a new account. It is also compatible with Google Mail, Outlook and other email providers.
