New Delhi: Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover took his fans by storm after he made a surprise appearance on Bigg Boss 18 as a guest. However, what shook many was host Salman Khan’s remarks as he called out Ashneer’s ‘doglapan’ on the reality show. For those who do not know, years ago, the BharatPe co-founder recalled how he signed the Tiger 3 actor for an ad.
While addressing some college students at an event, Ashneer stated that Salman demanded Rs 7.5 crore. When he was asked to reduce his fee, the actor’s manager allegedly quipped, “Sir aap bhindi khareedne aaye ho kya? Kitni maandvali karoge?” (Sir, are you here to buy okra? How much more will you bargain?)

In the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman brought up this topic and revealed that the figures he quoted were incorrect. To this, Ashneer added, “Maybe in the podcast, it did not come across correct.” However, the actor was quick to point out that he did not like the way Ashneer said it. “But the way you are talking now, and the video I saw of you, this wasn’t your attitude back then,” Salman said.

On Monday (November 18), Ashneer took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to sum up his experience on Bigg Boss 18. He wrote, “I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss weekend ka vaar! I had good fun. And I am sure the particular episode got great TRP / viewership. BTW all of the statements below are TRUE: Salman is a great host & actor. Salman knows what works on Bigg Boss. I’ve always praised Salman for his sense of self and business – not a single thing demeaning said for him ever. My deal numbers are always correct (bank / auditor verified). Met Salman in an exclusive meeting on the brand collab for 3 hours in May 2019 in JW Marriott Juhu – along with the director of ad (it’s ok if he doesn’t remember me – I was not a public figure then – he meets tons of people). The invite for coming as guest on Bigg Boss was not ‘unnamed’ – just like the cheque for the same 😉 And finally I’ve a pic with him – which I didn’t earlier (with no managers around). Thanks Salman Khan. Keep rocking!”

Earlier, Ashneer had also confronted Salman’s ‘heropanti’ after the actor’s manager refused the BharatPe founder to take photos with him. However, in his tweet, Ashneer clarified that he finally got a picture with Salman this time.
