Woman accused of child trafficking
The woman is accused of child trafficking. Actually the child was sold in October. He exchanged phone numbers with another woman and interacted with her on the social networking site Facebook. After the conversation, both of them met at Soshanguve Square near Pretoria, South Africa. And there the woman handed over the 8 month old innocent child to the woman. After which the woman left in a taxi. Speaking to South African website SNL 24, the woman revealed that due to difficult financial circumstances, she sold her child to another woman. Now the woman is saddened by the loss of her child and is pleading with the mother to tell her that she regrets her actions.
Captain Tintswalo of the South African Police in Gauteng said that a case of child trafficking was registered against the woman on October 19 and she was arrested the same day. He was later taken to the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate's Court in October. And North West National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Siwenti Gunya said the woman had put her child up for sale on Facebook Marketplace and another woman had expressed interest in purchasing the child. She took the child and promised to stay until she got back on her feet. Until then, he will give his mother 1,000 South African rands (about Rs 4,600) every month. But he did not pay the money and it was not received. However, the court released the woman on bail and the next hearing of the case will be in February 2025.
