Jharkhand Elections 2024: Preparations for second phase of voting completed for 38 seats, Rs 200 crore seized so far

Ranchi. Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has said that the second phase of voting will be held on November 20 at 14,218 booths in a total of 38 assembly constituencies. Of these, voting will take place at 31 booths only from 7 am to 4 pm. He said that the polling parties have reached their respective polling centers to conduct the voting. He appealed that all the voters should go to the polling station with their family, neighbors and friends and vote in a festive atmosphere.

More than 14 thousand polling stations

CEO K Ravi Kumar said that out of 14,218 booths in the second phase, 48 booths have been developed as unique booths. The number of polling stations run by women is 239. 22 polling stations will be operated by persons with disabilities. Whereas, arrangements for 26 polling stations will be in the hands of the youth.

In response to a question, he said that whatever cases of code of conduct violation come to the notice of the Election Commission, a case is immediately registered against them and the process of action is started. So far, 90 cases have been registered for violation of the Model Code of Conduct and action has been taken. While answering the questions raised in the press conference, he also appealed to the journalists that if they come across cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct, then they should share them with the Election Commission along with the evidence, the Election Commission will ensure action as per the rules. He said that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, illegal materials and cash worth more than Rs 200 crore have been seized.
