The West Australia Umpire Association informed in a post on Facebook regarding the umpire that Denobrega had to be hospitalized due to facial injuries and the possibility of surgery cannot be ruled out. After this, he further said in his statement that the straight drive of the batsman hit the side of Tony's face. Tony, who spent the night in hospital, was lucky he did not suffer any broken bones, although doctors are keeping him under observation as the possibility of surgery cannot be ruled out.
