Cash for Vote: Vinod Tawde trapped in 'cash scandal' before voting in Maharashtra, 3 FIRs so far, 9 lakh cash seized

Mumbai: Just a day before the Maharashtra Assembly Elections, the 'cash scandal' in Nalasopara has raised the political temperature in the state. The matter has gained momentum after senior BJP leader and national general secretary Vinod Tawde was accused of distributing money. The opposition has made it a big issue and the Election Commission has taken action and registered three FIRs.

Vinod Tawde has completely rejected these allegations. He called it a conspiracy by the opposition, especially the Mahavikas Aghadi. He says, “I had just gone to meet the workers. I didn't do anything wrong. This conspiracy has been done to defame my name. Police and Election Commission should conduct an impartial investigation.

Know the whole matter of cash scandal

Just before the elections, Rs 9 lakh 53 thousand 900 cash was seized in Nalasopara. This amount was recovered in the joint action of election officials and police. Maharashtra's Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Kulkarni said that the Flying Squad team reached the spot based on information and searched the premises. He also said that strict action will be taken against whoever violates the code of conduct.

BJP is surrounded by three FIRs and questions

So far three FIRs have been registered in this case. BJP candidates have been named in two of these cases, while Vinod Tawde himself has been named in one FIR. The opposition is using this to question the morality of BJP. Local party Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) is also named in an FIR.
