PKL 11 points table: Patna Pirates secure big win, Puneri Paltan draw vs UP Yoddhas

New Delhi: Pankaj Mohite starred for the Puneri Paltan while Bhavani Rajput shone for the UP Yoddhas as the two teams played out a thrilling 29-29 draw in the first match of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 on Tuesday, November 19. Later, Patna Pirates produced a comprehensive all-round effort to thrash Bengaluru Bulls 54-31 in the second game of the night.

Bhavani Rajput completed a ‘Super 10’ for the UP Yoddas and was their best raider in the game with 10 points. He was well supported by all-rounder Bharat and fellow-raider Keshav Kumar, who scored 7 points between them in the game. Mohite, on the other hand, finished with 9 points to ensure a tie for the Puneri Paltan.

Raider V Ajith Kumar also performed well for the Paltan as he secured 5 points with his heroics. In the defence, Gaurav Khatri and Mohit shone on their respective flanks to keep things tight and help their side finish with a draw. Puneri Paltan remained in the 4th spot on the PKL 11 points table after the draw while UP Yoddhas also remained at the 9th spot.

Patna Pirates make light work of Bengaluru Bulls

Patna Pirates were at their clinical best against struggling Bengaluru Bulls in the second game of the night as they hammered them 54-31 in match no.64 of PKL 11 at the Noida Indoor Stadium. Raiders Devank and Ayan scored Super 10s apiece for the Patna Pirates to help them comfortably trounce Bulls, who have managed only 2 victories now in 12 matches so far this season.

It was a memorable night for Devank, who moved to the top of the best raiders list in the ongoing season with 131 raid points to his name after securing an impressive 16 points in the match against Bengaluru Bulls. Devank and Ayan got off to a slow start but were unstoppable once they got into the grove as Patna Pirates ended the first half with a 7-point lead at 20-13.

While many expected the Bengaluru Bulls to stage a fightback in the second half, Patna Pirates continued their domination as they ended up completing a 54-31 rout with two of their raiders bagging Super 10s. Patna Pirates jumped to the 3rd spot on the points table with their resounding victory as they now have 38 points after 7 wins and 4 losses in 11 matches so far this season.
