Former CM's son instigated violence in Telangana, farmers angry over Pharma Village project

New Delhi: A ruckus broke out in Lagacharla village of Telangana. Farmers, angry over the Pharma Village project, were seen protesting against the acquisition of about 3,000 acres of agricultural land in Hakimpet, Polepalli and Lagacharla villages of Dudayal mandal for the proposed Pharma City. Their opposition is because of the Pharma Village being built here. Villagers say that with the arrival of the pharma project, research labs will open here.

Due to the chemicals released from them, the air and water of the surrounding villages will become poisonous. Due to which crops are destroyed and the land turns into ingots. If not today then tomorrow they will have to leave the house.

Farmers angry with Pharma Village Project

Lagacharla village is located in Vikarabad district. Collector Prateek Jain and Additional Collector Venkat Reddy along with their colleagues had gone to talk to the farmers regarding land acquisition. This meeting was to be held outside the village. The villagers refused to go there and called the officials to the village. The conversation with the officer who reached the village at 1 o'clock in the afternoon had not even started when the villagers attacked him. To save themselves, when all the officers sat in the car and went out of the village, stones and sticks were pelted at them. They were taken out of their cars and beaten. Videos also emerged in which the crowd was picking up huge stones on the road and throwing them at the vehicles of the officers.

Along with this, women and men ran away after the attack on the officers, children and elderly people and the government and police are in action after the attack on senior officers including the collector. Actually, a case has been registered against 22 named people and 100 unknown people. The government wants to create a special economic zone here on 1,350 acres of land. Apart from Lagacharla village, farmers of Hakimpeta, Polepalli, RB Thanda, Pulichella, Erlapalli Thanda and some nearby villages are also protesting against it. The reason for their opposition is that Pharma City is being built here.
