Vicious criminal arrested in encounter between police and miscreant

An important success has been achieved as part of the campaign being run against criminals. A vicious criminal Mohammad Umar alias Umar Khan was arrested in an encounter between police and miscreants on Monday night. Mohammad Umar was injured in this encounter, who has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment by the police.
According to the incident, a special operation is being conducted to arrest the criminals under the direction of Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma. Under this campaign, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police City and Area Officer Kerakat, Gaurabadshahpur police station incharge Phoolchand Pandey and outpost in-charge Ravi Prakash along with their team were checking suspicious vehicles near Withar Mor. Meanwhile, information was received from the informer that two persons were coming from Azamgarh towards Jaunpur on a motorcycle, who were involved in drug smuggling.
On the information of the informer, the police laid siege to Lilha turn. After some time, a motorcycle was seen coming from Azamgarh side. The police showed them torchlight and signaled them to stop, but the miscreants tried to run away. During this time the motorcycle slipped and one miscreant managed to escape from the spot, while the other miscreant came under police cover.
The police asked for surrender, but the criminal Mohammad Umar opened fire on the police. In self-defence, the police also retaliated, in which a bullet hit Umar in the leg and he was injured. He was arrested on the spot. During the search, an unnumbered motorcycle, a country-made pistol, a live cartridge and a miss cartridge were recovered from him.
The injured criminal was immediately sent to CHC Chorsand, from where he was referred to the district hospital. The police are searching for the absconding criminal in this case and are investigating other aspects related to drug smuggling.
This success of the police has further increased the confidence of the people regarding security and law and order in the area.
