India vs Australia Perth Test: India's wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant will have a chance to make a special record in the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia to be held at the Optus Stadium in Perth from Friday (22 November). Can break Sachin Tendulkar's record
Pant has hit 67 sixes in 66 innings of 38 test matches played so far for India. If he hits three sixes, he will surpass Sachin Tendulkar in the list of players who have hit the most sixes in Test cricket for India. At present, only Virend Sehwag (90), Rohit Sharma (88), MS Dhoni (78), Tendulkar (69) and Ravindra Jadeja (68) are ahead of him in this list.
Can leave Syed Kirmani behind
If Pant scores 67 runs, he will surpass Syed Kirmani and reach the second position in terms of scoring the most runs as a wicket-keeper batsman for India. Pant has so far scored 2693 runs in 66 innings of 38 Tests. Whereas Kirmani has 2759 runs in his name in 124 innings of 88 Tests. MS Dhoni tops this list with 4876 runs.
It is noteworthy that Pant was the most successful batsman in the three-Test series played between India and New Zealand recently. He scored 261 runs in six innings of three matches at an average of 43.50.
