BMW India launches 2025 M5, the car will come with such features

Available at a price of Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom), the 7th generation M5 is now offered as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), replacing the old single configuration of a V8 engine with a new powertrain. 2025 BMW M5 Engine

The new M5 has a 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 577 bhp power and 750 Nm torque. An electric motor is paired with this engine, which provides an additional 194 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, taking the total power output to 717 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. This powertrain is mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.

The M5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, which is slightly slower than its previous variants, the M5 CS (3 seconds) and the older M5 (3.4 seconds). Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but this can be increased to 305 km/h with the M Driver Package. In electric mode, the M5 has a top speed of up to 140 km/h.

Battery and Charging

The new M5 is powered by a 22.1 kWh battery (18.6 kWh useful), which offers an electric range of 70 km when fully charged. According to BMW, this battery can be fully charged with a 7.4 kW AC charger in approximately 3 hours 15 minutes. However, the weight has increased due to the hybrid system, and its total curb weight is 2,435 kg.

How is the design of the new car?

The design of the new M5 is inspired by the current generation 5 Series, with some special styling elements that add to its aggressive and sporty personality. It gets a gloss black finish and lighted surrounds to highlight the signature kidney grille, while the front bumper includes large air intakes.

The profile of the car also shows the charging port flap on the left side and the sedan's increased length, making it over 5 meters long. This M5 rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. At the rear, the M lip spoiler, stylish bumper and charged exhaust tips make it more attractive.

Interiors and Customization

The interiors feature a new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with dedicated M buttons and custom BMW M graphics on the curved twin screens. Standard features include four-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and wireless charging.

Color Options and Customization

The 2025 BMW M5 is available in multiple color options, including non-metallic Alpine White and metallic shades like Black Sapphire, Sophisto Grey, Brooklyn Grey, and Fire Red. Additionally, BMW Individual paint options and various full leather Merino upholstery options are also available. M Performance accessories are also available for customization, such as a carbon fiber rear diffuser and side skirts, available at BMW dealerships.
