CM Atishi launches Delhi Solar Portal, consumers' bill will be zero on electricity consumption more than 400 units

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched the Delhi Solar Portal on Wednesday. With this, the bill of consumers consuming more than 400 units of electricity will also be zero. Delhi Solar Portal is a single-window solution, in which information from installing solar panels to getting subsidy from the government is available in one click at home. On the inauguration of the portal, CM Atishi said, “Today we are launching the Delhi Solar Portal. He said that if any person living in Delhi wants to install solar panels on the roof of his house, then Delhi Solar Portal is a one-window solution, in which all the necessary information will be available.

CM Attishi said, “Delhi government has always been committed towards adopting clean and non-polluting energy sources. Delhi is the only state in the country which closed all its thermal power plants so that the people living in Delhi do not have to face pollution.

CM Atishi said, “In Delhi, people get up to 200 units of free electricity and subsidy up to 400 units. People usually have a question that what about those who use more than 400 units of electricity? Delhi Solar Policy is the answer to all their questions. “Through this policy, people can get zero electricity bill even if they use more than 400 units of electricity.”

Consumers will also be able to apply for net metering and subsidy

Net Metering: If a person consumes 400 units of electricity and generates 300 units from his rooftop solar panel, he will have to pay the bill for only 100 units. Consumers will also be able to apply for net metering from the solar portal and get rooftop solar panels installed sitting at home. People will also be able to apply for government assistance through the solar portal, without having to visit any government office.

Delhi government provides subsidy based on generation. For example, if a person installs a 3 kilowatt solar panel on his rooftop, he will get a subsidy of Rs 3 on every unit of electricity. Thus, the consumer will get a subsidy of Rs 3 per unit of electricity produced from the solar panel.

CM Atishi said that those who currently pay electricity bills will now take money from the government after installing rooftop solar panels, which will come to their accounts every month in the form of generation based incentive. He said that I hope that people will enthusiastically install solar panels on their rooftops and we will definitely achieve our target of producing 750 MW electricity in the coming years.

Government will give incentive for 5 years

There will be 5 financial benefits from solar policy. For example, if you install a 3 kilowatt capacity solar panel, the Delhi government will deposit Rs 3 per unit in your bank account. Across the country, people installing solar panels with 3 to 10 kilowatt capacity will get Generation Based Incentive (GBI) at the rate of Rs 2 per unit. Delhi government will continue to give it for five years. Only Delhi government is giving generation based incentives across the country to the people who install solar panels. Apart from Delhi, no state government is doing this.
