How many matches will there be in IPL 2025?

Like the last three years, a total of 74 matches will be played in the IPL 2025 season. However, there is also an indication of increase in the number of matches in the coming seasons. There may be 84 matches in IPL 2026, and the number of matches may increase to 94 in 2027. The main reason for this is the increasing importance of media rights.

Foreign players got permission:

A good news for all the 10 IPL franchises is that all the major ICC member countries have allowed their players to play in the IPL. With this, all the teams will get full support from their foreign players.

New Auction Rules:

Before the 2025 mega auction, BCCI has issued a new auction rules. According to this, if any foreign player does not participate in the mega auction, he will not be able to play in IPL for the next two seasons. At the same time, if a foreign player withdraws his name after being bought in the auction, he may have to face a ban of two years.
