Mumbai: Despite criticism, why Kanguva is impressing family audiences

Mumbai Mumbai:Kanguva, directed by Siva and starring Suriya, Disha Patani and others, was released in theaters on November 14, 2024. The film has received mixed reviews so far, with many criticizing its poor story, dull screenplay, etc. According to Local 18 Tamil, despite negative reviews, Kanguva received a positive response from family audiences in the first five days of its release. Families and children enjoyed the film. According to him, the movie is a visual treat to watch and kids love watching it because it is a 3D movie. Most of the youth also appreciated Kanguva, saying that they liked the camera work, CGI effects and music of the film. He also praised the performance, costumes and make-up of Suriya's double character and compared it to Hollywood level.

The makers have also tried their best to overcome the shortcomings in Kanguva. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja said in a press conference that audiences have complained about excessive noise in the film. According to Raja, “We have spoken to everyone and asked them to reduce the volume by 2 points. The film is set a thousand years ago and most of the episodes have tremendous action sequences. So, I took into consideration the feedback from the exhibitors. Keeping this in mind he was asked to reduce the sound by 2 points. Apart from these corrective steps, Gyanvel also talked about the second installment of Kanguva. He said that filmmaker Siva has already finalized his dates for another film with Ajith Kumar. Raja said that Shiva would shoot that film first. According to the producer, they will be planning Kanguva 2 after that. The producer said that the script of Kanguva 2 is ready. However, according to him, improvements will be made based on the feedback received so far.

Kanguva concludes by introducing the character of Karthi. It also hinted at a conflict between him and Surya. Box-office collection of Kanguva Suriya's fantasy drama Kanguva has seen a huge decline in its box office collections. As per early estimates, the film had a disappointing start to its second week with Rs 2 crore on Thursday (November 21). This takes the total earning of the multilingual film to Rs 64.4 crore after eight days of release.
