Australian team insulted in its own home

Spots: The Indian cricket team attacked its opponents on home ground in the first Test after reaching Australia. It was expected that the Australian team playing on home ground would put pressure on the Indian team but the opposite seems to be the case. Although the Indian team did not show much strength in batting, they improved their bowling and showed their competitiveness. This was bound to happen against India today because the Australian team had not experienced anything like this at home in eight years. In some ways this is a shameful day for Australia.

Statistically speaking, this is the second time this has happened with an Australian team since 1980, when the team was playing a Test match on home ground and the first five wickets disappeared even before 40 runs were scored. South Africa also did something similar in the beginning of 2018. In this match, the Australian team completely surrendered in front of South Africa. In the next match in Hobart, Australia lost five wickets for just 17 runs. Australia lost 5 wickets for 38 runs against India. Meanwhile, when the team crossed 50 runs, the sixth wicket also disappeared.

When Indian bowling started, Jasprit Bumrah was the leader. Bumrah played a big role in destroying Australia's top order. He took three consecutive wickets. This also included sending Steve Smith to the stands with a golden duck. Mohammad Siraj could not bowl well from this side and hence he handed over the captaincy of the bowling to Harshit Rana. He brought great success to the Indian team by dismissing Travis Head. After this, when Siraj came again in the second over, he took two wickets with the right chip and put the Australian team on its feet.
