Rishabh Pant achieves INCREDIBLE milestone with fiery knock in Perth Test
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant played a decent knock of 37 from 78 deliveries to carry the Men in Blue over the 100-run mark in the first Border-Gavaskar series Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Pant’s innings featured 3 boundaries and a fantastic six to Australian skipper Pat Cummins.
With this innings, Pant became only the third Indian player to score over 2000 runs in the World Test Championship. The 27-year-old is only behind the star batter duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who stand on 2685 and 2432 runs respectively.
This is a remarkable achievement as unlike other players, Pant didn’t even feature for India for almost 2 years in any format of the game due to his horrific car accident back in 2022.
Pant was the player with the second-highest individual score in the Indian innings. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top-scorer with 41 runs off 59 deliveries.
