On Friday, the makers of Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club unveiled a character poster featuring veteran actor Vijayaraghavan as Kuzhiveli Lonappan. The image shows him seated in a wheelchair, holding a double-barrelled gun, surrounded by armed men who appear to be guarding him. Scheduled for a Christmas release, the film will arrive in theatres on December 19.
Previously released character posters introduced Dileesh Pothan, Vineeth Kumar, Big Dawgs-fame rapper Hanumankind, Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, and actors Suresh Krishna, Surabhi Lakshmi, Vani Viswanath, Vishnu Agasthya, and Unnimaya Prasad.
Aashiq Abu not only directs but also serves as the cinematographer for Rifle Clubwhich has music by Rex Vijayan, editing by V Saajan and production design by Ajayan Chalissery. Billed as an action film, the film is co-written by Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Karunakaran, Suhas, and Sharfu. Its ensemble cast further includes Darshana Rajendran, Vincy Aloshious, Ramzan Muhammed, and filmmakers Senna Hegde and Natesh Hegde. Rifle Club is produced under Aashiq’s home banner OPM Cinemas in association with TRU Stories Entertainment.
Vijayaraghavan, riding high on the acclaim of his remarkable performance in this year’s blockbuster Kishkindha Kaandamwill also be featured in the upcoming Antony Varghese-starrer Daveedcurrently in its post-production stage.
