Prasar Bharati launches its OTT platform Waves
Delhi Delhi. India's public broadcaster Prasar Bharati today launched its over-the-top (OTT) platform Waves in India. The platform will offer TV shows, documentaries, regional content and movies in more than 12 Indian languages, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi and Assamese.
According to details shared by Prasar Bharati, the content available on Waves will span across 10 genres of entertainment and will include old classic shows like Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktimaan and Hum Log. Prasar Bharti says its OTT platform Waves offers video on demand, free-to-play gaming, radio streaming, live TV streaming, 65 live channels, multiple in-app integrations for video and gaming content and open network for digital commerce ( ONDC) will also provide online shopping through supported e-commerce platforms.
Additionally, Waves will also offer its platform to content creators like National Creator Awardees Kamiya Jani, RJ Raunak and Shraddha Sharma and will live stream events like Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla ki Aarti from Ayodhya and Mann Ki Baat delivered every month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gold Plan: This plan costs Rs 30 per month and offers live TV and radio access in SD quality on a single device.
