Police operation conducted in Sukma forests, 10 Naxalites killed, many weapons recovered

Security forces killed 10 uniformed Naxalites in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The operation was carried out on Friday in Nagaram forest where Sukma was located during an operation conducted by DRG and CRPF forces on the information of Naxalites in Elaramadgu, Palodi and Potkapalli.

Bodies of a total of 10 Naxalites, including three female Naxalites, have been recovered from the encounter site. 11 weapons including AK-47, INSAS, SLR and other materials have also been seized from them. All 10 Naxalites were identified on Saturday. There are 3 women and 7 men, their bodies and 3 automatic weapons have been recovered.

Naxalite carrying reward of Rs 40 lakhs killed

These include DVCM Masa, Lakhma Madvi and Ritika of South Bastar Division, who had a reward of Rs 8 lakh each. Apart from these, Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh, Karatam Kosa, Durro Kosi, Muchaki Deva and other Naxalites were also killed. These Naxalite are said to be of Platoon Number-4 in Maoist organization.

Bastar Range IG P. Sundar Raj said that so far in the year 2024, security forces have killed 207 Naxalites as part of the anti-Naxal operation in Bastar division. These include 13 DVCM, 39 ACM and other big Naxalite cadres.

Women were also included

IG Sundar Raj said that after the encounter stopped at 12 noon, the security forces conducted a search operation in the area. 10 bodies and weapons of 10 Naxalites were recovered from the incident site. Our soldiers displayed precise strategy and courage and killed the Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 40 lakh. This campaign is a major success in the direction of anti-Naxal efforts.
