1. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple
Though situated on a hill surrounded by dense trees, the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is a symbol of devotion and architectural excellence. It is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva where he drank poison during the churning of the ocean according to Hindu mythology. Bharat Mandir is one of the ancient temples found in Rishikesh and hence has immense historical and religious significance. Shankaracharya Adi Guru built this temple around the 12th century which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is also given a Shaligram stone idol which is mesmerizing.
