Virat Kohli salutes Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul for INCREDIBLE opening stand in Perth Test

India ended the second day of the first Border-Gavaskar series Test on a high as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul formed a magnificent partnership of 172 runs. With this, the Men in Blue took a lead of 218 runs ahead of the third day.

Kohli, who was busy with his own batting drills after the day’s play, made sure to acknowledge their impressive performances with a salute.

India dominated in all the 3 sessions of the day as after bundling out Australia for a modest total of 105, mainly thanks to skipper Jasprit Bumrah’s incredible spell of 5/30, the Indian openers batted with purpose and flair, easily negating the new ball.

Both Jaiswal and Rahul showed immense maturity with their respective knocks. Jaiswal on one hand, played some fine shots against the Australian bowlers and finished the day unbeaten on 90. So far in his knock the 22-year-old has scored 7 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Rahul on the other hand mainly played the supporting role throughout the day, but wasn’t shy to hit a boundary whenever he got a chance. He finished the day unbeaten on 62, scoring 4 boundaries.

With their respective knocks, the duo showed that they had the tools to tackle the Perth pitch, which had been tricky for most batters in the first innings.
