Government committed to revolutionize agriculture and allied sectors through HADP: Javid Dar

BARAMULLA�बारामूला: Minister for Agricultural Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) Javid Ahmed Dar on Saturday said that the government is committed to revolutionize agriculture and allied sectors through successful implementation of the Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP) in Jammu and Kashmir. Is. The Minister made these comments while chairing the first meeting organized to review the overall development scenario of district Baramulla. The Minister underlined the need for successful implementation of all major schemes so that their benefits reach the ultimate beneficiary at the grassroots level. He asked the local representatives to support the administration for successful implementation of the schemes including HADP, PMAY-G, MNREGA and other major programs for public convenience. To ensure uninterrupted water supply in all areas of Baramulla, the Minister directed the concerned department to take immediate action to overcome the shortage of skilled staff in water supply schemes across the district,

He stressed the need for strong cooperation between the elected MLAs and administrative officials and urged them to work in close coordination to fulfill the aspirations of the people and transform the district into a thriving economic hub. Keeping in mind the winter season, the Minister stressed that scheduled power supply should be ensured to consumers and adequate arrangements should be made for buffer stock at all stations for prompt installation of damaged transformers. Instructions were given to the concerned officers to ensure better healthcare and education facilities including strengthening of GMC Baramulla. The Minister stressed on ensuring proper garbage disposal and implementation of SBM for better cleanliness and hygiene in the district.

In the meeting, District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla Chairperson Safina Baig, Baramulla MLA Javed Ahmed Baig, Wagoora-Kreeri MLA Irfan Hafiz Lone, Sopore MLA Irshad Ahmed Kar, Pattan MLA Riyaz Bedar, Uri MLA Sajjad Ahmed, Baramulla Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla Syed Qamar Sajjad and all concerned departments. HOD and officers participated. Earlier, the DC made a comprehensive presentation, outlining the overall development scenario of the district and highlighting both financial and physical progress achieved in various sectors through the ongoing development projects. The Minister was also briefed on key infrastructure projects, including the Government Medical College, construction of which is 85% complete, progress on National Highways, black-topping of roads under R&B, completion of the first phase of transit accommodation for migrants and other key initiatives. The demands and issues raised by the DDC Chairman and MLAs included incomplete road and infrastructure projects under PMGSY, R&B and NABARD, power problems, functioning of WSS, street lighting, road widening, staff augmentation, upgradation of educational institutions and health centres, Completion of bridge construction, proper solid waste management, non-availability of quality fertilizers and pesticides, testing laboratories for apple growers, restoration of water bodies. and road construction issues and others. Meanwhile, DDC Chairperson Safina Baig stressed the urgent need to address key issues including construction of various bridges under R&B, construction of an inland port and setting up of a cluster port for vegetables and fruits. He asked the officials to prevent procedural delays and ensure that the funds allocated for these projects are utilized effectively without lapsing. Responding to the demands presented by the MLAs, the Minister assured that all the complaints under their jurisdiction will be resolved immediately, while the remaining issues will be referred to the concerned authorities for quick resolution.
