KL Rahul's bat made noise in the second innings, left Rohit Sharma behind in this matter
By the end of the second day's play in the first match of the 5-match Test series being played between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Team India has strengthened its hold. Team India, which scored only 150 runs in its first innings, restricted the host team to just 104 runs in its first innings. At the end of the second day's play, the Indian team has scored 172 runs without any loss in its second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten after scoring 90 runs, while KL Rahul, who got the responsibility of starting the innings in this match, also remained unbeaten after scoring 62 runs in 153 balls. On the basis of his half-century innings, Rahul has gone ahead of Rohit Sharma in a special matter.
KL Rahul has been facing criticism for his performance for some time now, his bat did not do much even in the home Test series against New Zealand, in which he was included in the team before the Australia tour. Questions were also being raised regarding the selection of the team, after which now Rahul has answered everyone on the basis of his half-century innings in the Perth Test match. This is Rahul's 8th inning of more than fifty runs together in eight countries i.e. South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia. On the basis of his innings, Rahul has now gone ahead of Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir, both of whom have played 7-7 fifty plus innings in service countries.
Rahul made a historic partnership with Yashasvi
It is not easy for the opening batsman of any team in Australia to face fast bowling on the pitches there. In such a situation, KL Rahul has made a partnership of 172 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket. This is the first time in 20 years in Australia that Team India has made an opening partnership of more than 100 runs. If these two players are successful in taking this partnership to 192 runs, then it will also be India's biggest partnership in Australia so far.
