Mexico: A police chief in Mexico shot himself to avoid arrest. He was accused of corruption. At present, many police officers have been arrested in the case.
According to the information, the police chief of a small town in Mexico took his own life on Friday. Because the army had arrived to arrest him as part of an anti-corruption raid. Other top police commanders and a mayor of other cities were also detained during the raids.

The raids took place in two populous suburbs west of Mexico City as well as on the edge of the country's capital. The federal public security department reported that the seven officers arrested were linked to criminal groups.

These allegations against police officers
The arrested police officers have been accused of crimes like kidnapping, extortion and murder. However, it is not clear whether formal charges have been filed against him yet. In that case, state prosecutors said the police chief of one of the rural towns, Texcaltitlan, killed himself with his own weapon as Marines, National Guard and soldiers were trying to arrest him on unspecified charges.
