New Delhi. Congress is in shock due to the crushing defeat at the hands of Mahayuti of Mahavikas Aghadi in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. After the results of Maharashtra Assembly elections were declared on Saturday, Rahul Gandhi had said on his ex-post that there will be a thorough investigation of the defeat. Now a statement has come from Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal in this regard. While talking to a news channel, KC Venugopal said on the Maharashtra Assembly election results that the Congress leadership is not able to understand what happened there. He described the Maharashtra election results as shocking and unbelievable.

KC Venugopal said that not only Congress but Mahavikas Aghadi lost in Maharashtra assembly elections. Congress General Secretary said that Congress is surprised after the defeat in Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly elections. Venugopal said that Mahavikas Aghadi, in the stronghold of Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Congress itself, has suffered a major blow. He said that this is a collective failure. Therefore, we will sit together and find the reason for the defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Regarding the possibility of some kind of disturbance, he said that he is not saying anything about it immediately.

Uddhav Thackeray Sharad Pawar

In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress could win only 16 seats on behalf of Mahavikas Aghadi. Whereas, she contested on more than 100 seats. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena has got only 20 seats and Sharad Pawar's NCP has got only 10 seats. The leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi including Congress are surprised because in the Lok Sabha elections this year, the alliance had defeated the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, but within 4-5 months the situation changed and BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar That NCP together again captured power. Let us tell you that even after the defeat in Haryana Assembly elections, Congress had formed a committee to find out the reasons. Then news came that many candidates alleged that they did not get proper support from the party itself. However, Congress did not officially say anything on this allegation.
