Gautam Gambhir will be on Australia's radar
India's tour of Australia is going to start from 22nd November. This series will decide Gautam Gambhir's future with Team India. In fact, after the whitewash against New Zealand, some reports came out in which it was said that if the team does not perform well under his coaching during the Australia tour, then the coaching of the Test team could be taken away from him. In some reports it was also claimed that Gambhir and senior members of the team were not unanimous regarding the selection of the wicket. In such a situation, Australia tour is very important for him. Meanwhile, former spinner Harbhajan Singh has come out in support of Gambhir. He says that the blame is being put on Gambhir.
Harbhajan said on Jatin Sapru's YouTube channel, “Ever since Gautam became the coach, he has neither gone to bat nor to bowl. Suddenly he has become a coach and the results have deteriorated. The entire blame is being put on Gautam Gambhir. He has not batted or bowled, he cannot be blamed. Your plan was to make a turner, and the plan backfired. After knowing him, I think his heart is in the right place. They always think about the team, it is too early for us to judge them. Give them time. It is not easy to run big teams.”
The 44-year-old Harbhajan also believes that the upcoming five-match series against Australia will be a test of Gambhir's patience and temper as he cannot control anything as he is sitting out as the coach.
Bhajji further said, “Running big teams is difficult, it takes time for everyone. If the results were good, everyone would say 'look, Gautam is leading the team to victory'. The series against Australia is important, many things will be tested. Gautam Gambhir, who will be sitting outside, will have his anger and patience tested. He can't control anything from outside, big players sit on the sidelines and get frustrated. Gambhir will have to pass this test. This tour is very important for Gambhir. In this country, everyone has their own opinion. Gautam Gambhir must be feeling disappointed, he is on the radar. If the series does not go well, Gambhir will have to suffer losses. I want them to remain calm and the team to perform well.”
