  • Beetroot – 1 medium sized grated
  • Paneer – 1/2 cup, grated
  • Green chilli – 1, finely chopped
  • Green coriander – 2 teaspoons, finely chopped
  • Ginger – 1/2 teaspoon, grated
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Red chilli powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Celery – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil – for baking
  • Take gram flour in a big vessel and prepare a thick batter by adding water little by little. Take care that lumps do not form in the solution. Beat it well so that it becomes smooth.
  • Now add grated beetroot and cheese to this gram flour solution. Also add finely chopped green chillies, ginger, green coriander, celery, salt and red chilli powder. Mix everything well. If the solution seems too thick, you can add some more water.
  • Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame and add some oil to it. After the pan is heated, put a spoonful of the batter in it and spread it in a round shape. Spread it gently so that the cheela does not become too thick.
  • Now let the cheela cook on low flame. Sprinkle some oil on top and fry it until it turns golden. When the cheela becomes golden and crisp from one side, turn it and cook the other side also.
