…that's why Virat Kohli wanted to score a century in Perth, broke many records with his 30th century

Perth: Virat Kohli batted fluently with a brilliant blend of patience and attack, completing his 30th century in the traditional format in the second innings of the first Test against Australia here on Sunday, surpassing the record of great batsman Sir Don Bradman.

It is being said that Kohli, who was on the decline in his career, scored unbeaten 100 runs with the help of eight fours and two sixes in 143 balls at the Optus Stadium. He had to wait for about 16 months and 15 Test innings for this century. He scored 121 runs against West Indies at Port of Spain in July 2023.

With this century, Kohli refreshed the memories of the brilliant innings of 123 runs played in this city in 2018. After his unbeaten century, Kohli said that he wanted to contribute to the betterment of the team.

Kohli said to Adam Gilchrist-
“When you don't play well, a lot is going on in your mind, you end up making some mistakes after spending time at the crease.”

Virat Kohli said
“I just wanted to contribute to the welfare of the team, I didn't want to stay at the crease just to pass time… but wanted to contribute to the betterment of the team. ,

He completed his century with fours on a sweep shot against Marnus Labuschagne. He became the fourth Indian player after Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to complete 30 centuries in Test cricket.

This Indian legend said, ''Anushka has been with me in every happiness and sorrow. She knows everything that happens behind the scenes.” “I am proud to perform for the country,” he said. It feels amazing. Anushka's presence here makes this innings more special.”

After talking to Gilchrist, Kohli, along with other players of the Indian team, responded with a smile to the massive applause from the 26,166 spectators present in the stadium. He also celebrated his century by giving a 'flying kiss' to his wife Anushka.
